Hi, my name is Didem. I’m a professional singer, a vocal coach and a piano teacher with more than a decade of experience. I’m passionate about sharing my love for music and teach students of all levels, whether young or old; beginner, intermediate, or advanced. I have a special approach to teaching singing and piano that I think you will like. If you are interested, keep reading.
I have a very strong educational background with a Bachelor of Music degree, Masters degree and Postgraduate studies in addition to countless professional development credits. But let's be honest, nobody likes reading a long article about someone's background. If you want to know the renowned institutions that provided my education you can check out my CV here
During my studies, I realised how lucky I was to be taught by such established and inspirational teachers at institutions defined by artistic excellence. After finishing the BMus program in Rhythmic, I decided to develop my own practice based on the principles that I believe make a good teacher, great.
It is an education method based on perceiving the information physically, then defining this naturally learned information theoretically. As it is the natural way of learning, it is a very effective way of teaching music to students from all areas of Performing Arts.
In 2007, I started teaching piano, singing, and dance at various public institutions as well as in private lessons.
Over the next few years I composed my own method of 'Full Body Perception', which I applied in all my piano and singing lessons. The method combines an effective and efficient pedagogy with a student- centered approach, with other principles that I learned during my studies. At the heart of my teaching style I believe there is a way to achieve artistic excellence in a fun and playful environment.
Full Body Perception Method is focused on hearing, then physical repetition, body percussion, coordination, reaction, improvisation and memory exercises to make the singers or pianists, experience and perceive music with their whole body.
With more than a decade of experience in teaching both conservatory students and music lovers, I’ve been helping my students discover their potential in singing and piano, and encouraging them to use it to make music and enjoy it even more. My aim is to guide you in ways that will help you grow and develop in your chosen musical field.
My singing classes are centered around the development of your own voice. Whether you are aiming to become a professional, or polish the skills you have as a performer, or just to have a bit of fun singing, I can tailor my classes to suit your needs and help you pick the right repertory.
As an experienced vocal coach, and an Estill Voice trainee,I always aim to help everyone use the full potential of their voices. Some of the areas we can work on together are,

"I started taking lessons from Didem about 6 months ago and I can clearly feel that not only has my breathing improved, but my vocal range has also increased, along with my confidence. I am very grateful for the help Didem has given me in improving my technique and I look forward to continuing to work with her."Michelle Herbert, Editor
"I really look forward to my lessons with Didem every week! I’ve been taught by her for the past 6 months and she’s really helped me build confidence and progress technically. What I particularly like about Didem’s lessons is that she takes care to pick up on all the details, as well as giving advice on helpful vocal exercises I can do both during and outside of singing so I can continue to build my voice! I’ve enjoyed every moment and look forward to continue my lessons with her!"Ayako Henson, Architect
"It's hard to express in words how happy and grateful I am to have Didem as my first piano teacher. I'm 54 years old and have never played Piano in my life. Being this age makes learning a bit difficult and very much SLOWER! than my younger days. However Didem has shown me that I can do it! She is very respectful, patient and encouraging, all the while pushing to get the very best out of me. I couldn't have hoped for a better teacher for my first ever piano lesson. She always welcomes me with a smile and every week I look forward to my lessons."Colin Igbokwe, IT Manager for NHS
"I started taking weekly singing lessons with Didem nearly 2 years ago, and still going strong. I had taken singing lessons for a number of years prior, so I wasn’t a complete beginner when I started with her. However, I was still lacking confidence when performing, as well as needing help to improve my technique, especially in a new genre of music I was trying out. Didem has been a wonderful coach and I’m feeling much more confident as a singer now than when I started with her. She provides a good balance between technique work and practicing songs, giving good inputs on performance aspects. She has further adapted exercises to focus on areas that I need to work on. Didem is very personable and friendly, but also strict enough during lessons to encourage improvement."Eugene Van Der Westhuizen, Financial Risk Analyser
"Didem was incredibly helpful. I needed a pianist to accompany my two kids for their grade 1 and 4 trumpet exams. She was flexible, but also provided good suggestions to the kids when rehearsing. I have been supported by other professional musicians in the past, but Didem's support is definitely above the average. She does not rush but offers the best possible service. And the kids loved her! Didem accompanied my kids for their grade 2, 3 and grade 5 exams as well. I will certainly contact her again!!!"Alessandra Francechetti
"Didem is an amazing teacher who is challenging, patient, and supportive. Each class is really rewarding and is one of the highlights of my week. The classes are challenging and cover a range of exercises to improve technique and mechanics but remain fun and light-hearted… Honestly, Didem has such a beautiful voice, I would happily take the courses for the opportunity to sing with her.Ryan Milton
